Writing

I am the author of two published novels, Outside Inside and Distortion and I also write poetry and non-fiction. I am an active member of the creative writing community in Sheffield, organising spoken word events and masterclasses. As one of the associates of the Writers Workshop, I deliver workshops from a city centre venue and I’m part of a vibrant network of writers. Editing

I established my writing services business in 2013, helping many authors to realise their dreams. I can give your book the polish and shine it needs to get to a professional standard, as well as having the practical skills and knowhow to take your book from manuscript to self-published masterpiece.

Proof Reading

I carefully check through the manuscript of your book, eliminating mistakes and creating a piece of writing that flows well and prose that glows!

Ghost-Writing

If you have a story to tell but aren’t sure how to get started or lack confidence in your own writing, I can use interview techniques to turn your story into a book you can be proud of. Contact me for more details.

Memoir

I am passionate about people writing about their lives and capturing their memories for future generations. I have worked with authors on many memoirs, from working with Joe Ashton on his memoir of growing up in the 1930s depression, to Melanie Pearson’s book about growing up in a family living in the shadow of Huntington’s disease.

Formatting

I can format your text into a professional book format for paperbacks and eBooks, and design a fantastic cover for you!

Publicity

I can guide you through the marketing and publicity process for your writing: self-publishing, setting up social media platforms, media interviews and the ways you can share your writing with the world.

Teaching

I facilitate workshops, masterclasses and creative writing classes for The Writers Workshop, Age UK Sheffield and Disability Sheffield, specialising in reminiscence, memoir, self-development and self-expression. I am experienced at working with children and adults of all ages and from all backgrounds, including families, people with disabilities and people living with dementia.
